Prerequisites

• Standard Costs must be set up in Sonar Web (Company > Standard Costs).
• The Number of Flocks to Benchmark setting must be entered (Company > Growout > Edit Growout).

Benefits

The benchmarking score allows Sonar users to assess how their current flock is performing in comparison to two groups: other flocks within the company and their own past flocks.

How It Works

The benchmarking score represents the percentile ranking of your current flock’s performance:

• 60-100%: Displayed in green, indicating strong performance.
• 40-60%: Displayed in yellow, indicating average performance.
• 0-40%: Displayed in red, indicating below-average performance.

You can view the benchmarking score by comparing your flock to other flocks in the company or by its performance against past flocks on the same farm. Use the filter button to switch between these views.

By Company

This view compares your current flock’s statistics with other flocks in the same company that are of the same growout, product and age. The comparison includes both active flocks and those sold in the past six months. The benchmarking score is calculated using standard costs, measuring the cost of your flock against that of the company’s group.

• This score is based on a standardized calculation across all companies and does not reflect a grower’s settlement.
• Users will only see data for the farms to which they are assigned; no data from other farms will be visible.

By Past Flocks

This view compares your current flock’s performance against previous flocks from the same farm and product, using the number of past flocks defined in the growout settings (editable in Sonar Web). As with company benchmarking, the comparison is based on standard costs.

Grower / TA Views

Grower users: The benchmarking score is displayed on a card with additional information. For users managing multiple farms, the cards are ordered by score, from high to low.

TA users: The benchmarking score is presented in a ranked list of all farms they have access to, also ordered from high to low.

Additional KPIs

To gain deeper insight into a farm’s benchmarking score, Sonar provides three additional KPIs on the Analytics screen:

• Weight
• % Depletion
• Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR)

Users can compare their current values against company averages and past flock averages to better understand their standing and identify potential issues.
